BE THANKFUL -- Day 16

On Day 16, I am thankful for sleeping babies.

We've all been there...after the hustle and bustle of the day's adventures wind down, and we've swept through the house picking up socks that have been tossed astray and toys that feel like little daggers from hell when your feet find them in your middle of the night trip to the bathroom.  After flipping all of the lights in the house off one-by-one, it's then that we find ourselves taking that one last peek.  We watch our children sleep.

All of the worries of the day, all of the artistic displays of crayon on the wall, all of the tantrums and meltdowns that left you wanting to duck and cover out of the grocery store, pretending you have no idea who that little animal is screaming, yelling, and kicking in the shopping cart...all of those things fade away into a dark abyss.  Your own breath lingers on each and every rise and fall of their chest, and you slip into a sort of euphoria where all is right and good in the world.  Your angels are perfect...quiet, peaceful, and perfect.  And you remember just exactly why you love them so incredibly much.
